I know this is for children, but children deserve better than this. Their parents deserve better than this when this dialogue inevitably gets parroted back to them ad infinitum on the ride home after the matinee.
It's similar to the way that contemporary Japanese citizens have varying levels of actual belief in Shintoism, but regard the practices as a vital part of their historical culture. Knowing that not everyone had it like me, I feel a sense of uniqueness in being able to explain it to others.
