Tonight several colleagues, including our own Auke, will contribute to a #DAPwell#geothermal well can walk in and ask them! Between 18-21h on the 1st floor in the CITG building at TUdelft
Warmest February ever here in Delft. Nonetheless seeing the daffodils are on campus makes for a great start into the week! Have a good one all!
You can't see it, but it did break! We only managed 1 out of 4 tests due to software issues, but the silver lining there is that I get to go in the lab again soon! 😁🤓
Today a rare lab day for me 😍😍😍🤓 fracture toughness of salt. We haven't used the setup in 7 years or so, so first some calibrations (yes, I realised after the photo that a lab coat was missing... And managed to find one that fits the pregnant belly 🤭🤰🏼)
Today we loan our 50 kN loading frame to a colleague working on grout, a bentonite-cement mix. It isn't rock but we'll excuse it because it has such a pretty colour and fractures nicely 😏😏😏 #breakingrocks#rocks
Remember the salt cubes we brought from Germany a few weeks ago? We were supposed to work on them this week... However, the true triax decided it needed some TLC so its pumps are sent to revision, and we made these beauties to do fracture toughness tests on Thurs instead
Aukje and Milad started together, and where Milad is going to stay for a while, Aukje is going to spread her wings. The sandstone army packed; four years of experiments in a box... We'll miss her! But there's comfort in knowing she'll come back for the defense and a party 🥳🎉
Milad Naderloo, who submitted his PhD thesis recently and started on a postdoc with us, will be hosted on the #porousmedia#teatimewww.youtube.com/live/OKL2nWJ...
First meeting of the project team working on the CrossScale project which is part of the NWO-funded DeepNL programme. Stay tuned for interdisciplinary #PhD#postdoc#vacancies#geoscience#geoenergy#socialsciences at TU Delft and Uni Groningen
Today PhD student Aukje has her last full-time week at the university. The thesis draft has been submitted, and 15 Feb is her first day at a company. End of an era celebrated by cake! (The cake is a meagre comfort for her departure... But such is science life 🥲)
