First in-person ROTTnROCK meeting since the project started! We’re at #EGU24@rocklabstrasbourg.bsky.social@claireharnett.bsky.social
Lucky students! Unless you're visiting with or have permission from OVSICORI, you'll only be able to view the crater and crater lake from the various tourist view points. Poás is fairly active at the moment, and so access is restricted. You should hope for clear weather for your visit!
The interiors of some of the bombs collected from Poás, Turrialba, and Rincón de la Vieja volcanoes in Costa Rica! 🌋🇨🇷 Snapshots of the hydrothermal seal! We’ll be soon making laboratory measurements! 🥳
Currently breaking altered rocks from Copahue volcano in Argentina 🌋🇦🇷 With Marina Rosas-Carbajal and others we’re interested in assessing the stability of Copahue by combining laboratory and field measurements! 💪
It’s that time of year! We ask the students to make a scientific poster, in pairs, of an unseen paper in 4 hours. Here are some of the results! 👇
New multidisciplinary paper, led by Alan Bischoff, about the geothermal potential of hydrothermally altered shear zones! Check it out here 👇 authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S...
