This is a big thing I'm noticing here in Canada, particularly with my parents' generation. They still use Facebook for their social media, but since Meta blocks news links entirely here, they have ended up on a spectrum from completely uninformed to "news" via hearsay.

And I feel like I know people who don't even seem to understand that this has happened? They just are happily not seeing any real information any more and not noticing. I mentioned the Meta blocks in conversation a little while ago and got treated like a conspiracy theorist!
