Baby’s first ACS meeting! #chemsky#ACSFall2024

Ironically, today I am officially 2/3 towards my original breastfeeding goal of 1 year and normally it’s going very well but apparently this week it is not 😅

Yesterday I forgot to bring home my daughter’s milk from work and I also completely forgot to wash and sterilize my pump parts and didn’t realize it until I was already driving to WP this morning. Idk what happened to my brain but if anyone knows where it is I’d gladly pay a finder’s fee.

Any #chemsky artists/creators (or their friends) that sell/make chemistry themed baby clothes? Theres a lot of options with mass online retailers but I’d rather support a chemist artist first! I’m bringing my daughter to ACS next month and need to make sure she’s dressed appropriately!

After some very frustrating delays that were out of my hands, it looks like I will have TWO first author papers submitted this week. I’d much prefer they be staggered but hey at least they’re finally submitted.

So grateful the CAS future leaders folks were cool with me bringing them along because 10 days is so long to be away from an infant.

My husband has finally booked his flight to and from Denver this August which means my baby is officially joining me for the fall ACS meeting! Gotta find some cute chemistry 9mo clothes now!

I’m going to attempt to make 50 aerogels tomorrow 😬😬😬

Just had to track someone down in the hallway to help me open a reagent bottle. Yes it was embarrassing but I really needed to start this synthesis.

One of the ACS board of directors said in a panel discussion that she tries to do her “scariest thing” of the day first so it’s over with and I’ve been trying to channel that ever since. I’m still not great about doing it but my day always seems better when I do.
