Any new zombie movies that want to be believable need to include random people who walk directly up to zombies & get bitten on purpose because they think getting bitten will help them build immunity against being bitten. They also need to mock people trying to avoid being bitten.
Weird Al's last line in "Tacky" is "If I get bit by a zombie, probably not tellin' you" and it turns out that's just society
And televangelists claiming they can cure zombieism with prayer if people send enough money
Additionally there will be a vaccine but the apocalypse will continue regardless because some people think the vaccine contains a tracking device.
The opening of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead (1978) has basically this same theme, yeah

They also have brag about their courage in their intentional effort at being bitten and simultaneously deny trying to get bitten, having been bitten, or wanting to, while claiming everyone else is a zombie, and they have a right to be bitten and bite whomever they want but you don't.
“Listen, I know you’ve been bitten, but unless you’re actively biting people *right now* we’re going to need you to come into work today.”
