High risk people have been forced to stay inside of their homes for nearly 5 years now because pandemic precautions (like two way masking) have largely been dropped and I never see anything discussing how lonely it is. But I hear about how lonely right wing dudes are- like, at least, once a day.

We’re not allowed to point out what this has done to us, Rox. We’re supposed to shut up and die because we make people uncomfortable. 😑

A lot of our lives effectively ended. And I had just barely really started living mine. I have chronic asthma and everything is a risk assessment. Outdoor stuff is great, but I live in Texas so that's only viable for a small fraction of the year as I can't tolerate heat at all. It's very lonely.

you know what was, pathetically, the highlight of my week? having a still-coviding person came over to help with some moving tasks yesterday. it was SO NICE to be able to directly interact with another human who is taking this as seriously as my platonic partner and i have been this whole time.

Long before COVID. In 2016, I wrote and published a poem about quarantining during flu season (I have multiple autoimmune disorders). Flu season is about 5 months long where I live.

As someone with ME/CFS I feel this deeply. And the origin story of it is when Trump's team realized that early in the pandemic it was mostly Brown and Black people who were dying so they said let it rip.

Every time a youtuber I watch actually mentions that disabled people have been isolated, or that everyone has been ignoring disabled people which is going to bite them in the ass I just perk up from whatever i was doing while listening, in shock, because it NEVER comes up.

MAGA is an unhealthy obsession.
