I with a manager who was trying to get me in for an interview last week until he had a meeting. Turns out his bosses told him not to hire anymore people. Regardless, he still spent almost 10 minutes trying to see if it'd be possible to fit me into the work schedule.

It didn't work out if it wasn't obvious, but the fact that he was going out of his way to see if I could fit in to the work schedule without even having had an interview made me feel wanted which was nice.
