The anti-abortion argument is that medical ethics have morally failed here so legislation is needed. Your example goes to that, showing a doctor doing something you think & hope others agree is morally wrong. But I think what's actually relevant here is the medical guidelines the doctor is under.

For one it informs the "would the doctor actually have done it" question, but more importantly I think we'd find those guidelines are written way more context than you or I have - what these situations are typically like in practice, what outcomes have been seen, what pros & cons need to be weighed
