Clark State Community College in Springfield is holding classes remotely all week. Wittenberg University has just announced being remote for tomorrow's classes, and that all events are cancelled for tomorrow and that all academic buildings will be closed(!).

Until today, I never heard of Paul Grice’s 4 Maxims for Effective Conversation (1989). The Quantity Maxim is one I need to respect in class: “Make your contribution as informative as is required, but DO NOT make your contribution MORE informative than is required.” Grice said it better, but still….
