I think this is also part of the reason that people were freaking out when SPD went down - beyond the crucial distribution functions, it really helped to have a bigger beacon available to navigate what's otherwise really murky.

Sunday project: starting to paint GaleForceNine's Alien Queen kit, which was cast in black plastic so the initial black undercoat is... well... it's there, I promise. Tried a xenomorph-ish termagant awhile ago, so I think this'll be a repeat of those colors.
