Yes, having biomass at unsustainable levels is still bad for the climate. Biomass is only a a good renewable fuel up to sustainable levels.  Honestly, other than waste products we shouldn't be using any biomass for our main energy grid.

This goes worldwide. As of primary energy consumption, Biofuels should be for things that can't be practically run off of batteries with current technology, and for utilizing residual energy in solid wastes before utilizing it for fertilizer.
