"growing numbers of men in red states are speaking out in defense of reproductive rights because of the harrowing experiences they’ve seen wives or partners go through when pregnancies went tragically awry" www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2024/...
More men are speaking out in defense of reproductive rights because of harrowing experiences that wives or partners have suffered when a pregnancy went awry.
The WaPo headline, declaring men to be "a louder voice in fighting abortion bans" is infuriating. It ignores the fact that men have been the loudest, and most cruelly efficient voice in ending women's reproductive rights. Welcome to the resistance, I guess?
It’s surreal that RoevWade was overturned. It doesn’t make sense to me that something like abortion is a state-by-state decision. Usually people make decision on where to live based on family or job. Now it seems it should also be based on state laws. That’s a hardship on families.
You also have to realize.. this means a LOT of men who were paying to give Mistress', side girls, prostitutes, abortions suddenly can't anymore and becomes a massive drain on resources as they then have to worry about wives/others finding out or paying child support.
That’s helpful, but why do republicans have to experience something personally to be able to understand it?
Complete lack of empathy. They only care when it happens to them

I recall an LA Times article from back when we were fighting the same fight in the Reagan era. There was a group of men supporting abortion rights. Spokesman said part of their argument was, "Women will be unwilling to relate to us sexually if they don't have access to abortion." Men know men.
The whole right wing project of turning young men into permanently angry unfuckable little shits is basically an attempt to keep them from being radicalized by the "my girlfriend is a person" mind virus.
it’s just all so appalling
