Clouds can destroy some exoplanet signals, but they also impart signals in phase curves in reflected light. Using five Kepler hot Jupiters, we find: – 2/5 have asymmetric cloud distributions – clouds are compatible with enstatite – atmospheric variability is a mirage 🪐🔭🧪 arxiv.org/abs/2401.13635

The worst thing is that planets and stars (especially HAT-P-11) don’t care about how much I care about them. Like they just continue changing their surfaces and evolving. It is very one-sided relationship!
