For context, I live in Canada, with socialized health care, and this was *still* a problem. And I've said before that as tough as I had it (and I left home as a teen with no resources in a historic recession) it's tougher now. I cannot imagine how American folx do it... or how they're expected to.
Well, if anyone asked me, I'd tell them that 20-25 years ago, when I decided I wanted to have children in addition to being a stepmom, I could not afford to. I was barely making ends meet at an exhausting full-time job. I waited until I was 35 & felt secure financially...then had fertility problems.
Three people I know personally (of about 20 that I pestered to do it) who checked their registration were suspended. Check, and pass it on.
