Once we became empty nesters, and thus ran the dishwasher less frequently, my wife came around to my way of thinking. If you don't want to open the dishwasher and have it smell like the men's locker room with no AC in the middle of the most humid summer on record, maybe rinse those dishes.

I've been surprised this isn't the most talked about issue at this site - the minimal reports we were getting in the 24 hours after landfall sounded devastating. Especially in NC/GA/TN. Sadly, those reports might have been understating the reality.
