Treatments for postviral and infection-associated illnesses of all kinds will save lives. They’ll return capability and potential to the many, MANY disabled people who want to live our lives, have jobs, contribute in the sciences and arts and society in ways that we can’t while sick.

The economic impact shouldn’t be the only justification here, but it’s worth a mention. I’m one of the very lucky ones right now: I can work part-time. But 22M of us can’t be fully in the workforce, and have loved ones who spend a lot of time caretaking. The math on the economic impact is clear.
