I think SoJ has started embracing the mentality SoA started years ago where they said Sonic means something different to everyone and that it should be embraced. Being able to customize our Sonic experience will hopefully only be stronger in the next substantial release.
They eventually added a toggle in Frontiers in a patch, so they're aware of it at least.
Once you install new pots, there's a good chance they won't be the exact same resistance range as the old ones. You can use this tool to recalibrate and save the new range to the controller. dualshock-tools.github.io

It was an American SNES shell, but it's certainly possible!
Worst part is even after getting things to a steady 60fps, there's still some dumb stutter every few seconds, the kind you see with bad garbage collection routines. Also, what appears to be shader generation stutter when first visiting areas. Switch 2 can't come soon enough.
