To be fair, I haven't actually seen the old local panel. But the one in the photo is Westbury, still active, visited (and may have had a go) as part training But yeah, a lot of preservation is down to stuff like that. There was an old office here with troves of 1920's GWR paperwork...
Sadly I think the museum at Didcot keep the old panel for my area in a room, where you can’t get up to it. But thankfully I’ve gotten to see the real things during my training instead.
It is funny how strangers starting conversations with me was a source of sheer, utter terror. And while it is still a bit uncomfortable, I don’t find it entirely unpleasant these days. Granted, it was a random elderly alcoholic waiting at the same bus stop as me, but still.

I’ve mentioned it before, but Sakara was intended to mean antler/sharp. Something his parents hoped would represent his keen senses and future skill as a hunter Kuveli, meanwhile, is just Little Brother. Their parents passed before he was named so Sak always called him Pikku Veli, later just Kuveli
