Yes, I have an insta-hot faucet so I run a teaspoon under it for a 3-count, let it cool for a 3-count, then apply until it cools down enough that it doesn't feel like it's working anymore & VOILA! Run the hottest water you've got (does'nt need to be boiling) & put the concave part on the bite.

The heat denatures the histamine in the bite, which is the ITCH. And I am highly, HIGHLY sensitive to mosquitos, so when I say this works, I MEAN IT. Only had to repeat it once on a bite I had already scratched pretty bad before I could spoon it. It's been a lifesaver this summer.
