They're both visible for a few hours at this phase, the x is the harder one to spot as it only lasts a couple of hours, They're called "clair-obscur" effects and become apparent as the terminator moves across the moon with crests and ridges are lit, here's a better shot from December 2023 👍

First sighting of the moon for me this cycle, and its already well over 7 days old and 45% lit, with the lunar V and X (just past its best) visible #astronomy#moon

So good to see the winter constellations returning to the night sky, especially when joined with the planets. Below is Friday's 4am sky looking east, with Mars, Jupiter and even Uranus in amongst Hyades and the Plaeides clusters. Stellarium screenshot also attached for locations #astronomy#planets
