funny enough it is actually such a colonial thing to do — it erases the cultures and histories of peoples these queer theory academics do not come from, it rewrites what actually happened with exoticized fanfictions of what these academics think would be "cool" or would help them win an argument

people are people and no offense but interacting with people from cultures that are not yours should be more respected than writing about cultures that are not your own. this is just othering. this is just treating segregation for granted. this shit fucking sucks and they feel so smug about it.
