Aye aye! I moved away when I was little, so I didn't learn much myself. I've picked up books about it since to connect more with the traditions from back home. I'm sure it isn't the same as the folk magic further in the hills on the other side of the range, mind you. We Canadians have our own spin!
I just managed to introduce my grandfather's little dog to the neighbor's cat without him getting clawed in the eye. Sadly no pictures, I needed both hands to wrangle an excited terrier and pet the cat at the same time. Thank goodness the cat is so chill and friendly, it could have gone worse!
Loads! Religious syncretism is valid and has been practiced globally and throughout history. The Abrahamic religious insistence that you can't blend traditions and practices is the odd one out, honestly. Within reason- closed traditions should be respected. They are that way for a reason.

Christian witchcraft is a real thing! My grandmother was an Appalachian (on the Canadian side) Catholic, and the number of times she gave me tokens and little charms to pray with as a child is very telling. I grew up to be a proper pagan long after she passed away. I still have the charms.
They hurt children, and lie about wanting to keep them safe. You know who else does that? Every villain in old school children's books. Fake support with intent to harm or neglect is emotional abuse.
They hurt kids with bomb threats. They hurt kids by banning books. They hurt kids by altering curriculum to reflect their stilted and distorted views of reality. They hurt kids by teaching them to feel hate and shame for being who they are. They hurt kids by letting them go hungry in school.
These are the consequences of Donald Trump's absurdly racist statements during the debate. His cult will do anything to please him, including terrorizing the very children they want to 'protect' from made-up threats. Drag queens don't hurt kids. Republicans do.
