classic teen move is for one person on bike to tow the other on their scooter / skateboard. I guess the same theory would work for ebike / bike. Maybe an ebike conversion kit is a cheaper option than new ebike?

I think I've seen conversion kits for $200 or so but I don't know how good they are at that price point and it's a very involved installation. And I'm not sure if the Walmart bike he has could handle the extra weight. Hacky towing is super unsafe. He's gonna slam into my back wheel or battery.
