The 1921 hurricane that hit the Tampa Bay region split Hog island (located off of Dunedin, FL) into two islands - Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island. The pass created is known as Hurricane Pass.

Ooof. And should they change their minds - oh well. Officials already said once winds get above about 35- 45 mph (depending on the municipality) emergency services will no longer go out to rescue people.

I live in a hurricane zone - Coastal North Carolina, about two miles from the Cape Fear River. Formerly lived in Florida - in the area that is now looking at Milton and just post-Helene. I kind of developed a habit of paying attention.
