For me it’s Fury of Dracula, though my favorite is the 3rd/4th edition, the last one that FFG did.
Not to oversell the changes, this is very much the same game. But Charlie is right that your experience hinges majorly on whether your team members will work on the map you have. And the changes amount to whatever the opposite of death-by-a-thousand-cuts is. Lots of little changes that add up.
The biggest change is that the board is much tighter, and the experience feels more concentrated as a result. I'm not sure it's that much more fast-paced in terms of how long it takes to travel, but it definitely feels like more happens quicker.
Yeah as I understand it was a huge influence on Heroes of Might & Magic, which would make it probably one of the most important hobby board games ever.
In all seriousness, I think @mattthr.bsky.social would be thrilled if we covered Titan.
Guessed it first try
Thanks, Mark! I’m thrilled you have enjoyed the cast so much.
Imagine if Cleveland had someone like Baker Mayfield or Joe Flacco...
Yeah, I'm actually surprised at how readable Dracula is. I think I had expected something more...florid in its prose. I'm a Dickens fan, so I can handle that kind of thing. But Dracula is not a heavy lift so far. Sad that my illusions of your togetherness have been shattered.
