Also while we’re talking about rings, just gonna drop a quick little fun fact here, rings (like Saturn’s) are not always there! They can slowly dissipate. Saturn’s rings have been there for less time than earth has had sharks. Sharks predate Saturns rings! It’s one of my favorite shark facts.

Also, to clarify, the group I was with absolutely did freak out, I was just…not SUPER surprised they didn’t already know about it? but simultaneously a little surprised this paper didn’t break out of the nerdosphere more. Maybe it just needs another couple days.

That’s a cool fact! I have a vague recollection of reading Earth may have had rings. Asteroids are like tiny mice teasing planets.
