Happy February and March Book Birthdays to KidLitWorks sisters @sarahollyackerman.bsky.social@sylviaichen.bsky.social Excited for your books!
Thrilled to be on this awesome list with the first spread of our book right on top. All last year, I got to say "next year," and now I get to say "next month"! www.slj.com/story/34-sta...
The last month of 2023 saw some great books and multimedia offerings, which include holiday books, Spanish-language titles, and music.
Who here works in a school and is your bloodstream 90% cookie right now?
Woohoo Jenn and SISTERHOOD OF SLEUTHS!
A kid was weeping silently in the library because he forgot his coat and would not be able to go to recess. So I convinced him it's totally normal to borrow a coat from the library and thank goodness I am the same size as the average fifth grader. It bears repeating: best.job.ever.
Today I was deemed best librarian ever by two kids who asked for paper and pencils and to play Taylor Swift on the desktop at a low volume while transcribing the lyrics which is apparently a thing the kids are doing, and 60% percent of the time, I truly do not understand what is going on in there
I have been called for the first time, Ms. Library, by a student who forgot my name. My work here is done.
The best thing I've done since receiving a copy of my debut is scan the ISBN in my library catalog. The cursor spun in endless, confused circles before everything froze. I guess don't scan a book that doesn't technically exist yet? THE GABI THAT GIRMA WORE will be out (and in library catalogs) 2/27!
I'm currently loving Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano so I'm sure I mentioned that, but it's hard to remember. I think I blacked out from excitement. I'm definitely/maybe going to keep my cool next time. We overlap by one stop most mornings.
