The notion that the fall of Roe would matter less to people the further in time we get from Dobbs has always been absurd. People will always need abortions! www.nytimes.com/2024/10/08/u...

The New York Times
A DEEPER LOOK AT THE NUMBERS ›

Abortion remains a top voter concern according to the poll, with 14 percent saying it is the most important issue deciding their vote. That's about the same as immigration. Republicans are banking on the issue fading, as the country moves farther from the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Plus, more people will be affected indirectly because of loved ones needing abortions.

We got a lot more hard evidence of what some states have done, and the real world effects now. It's real.

You’re exactly right Sarah. That’s why DeSantis is using Florida taxpayer money to run ads against Issue 4 the Abortion Rights Amendment & has threatened criminal charges against media outlets running ads in favor. Vote ✅ yes on 4 ‼️ Vote blue up & down the ballot. When We Fight, We Win.

The only thing that will happen is people will lose faith in the ability to achieve a political win and look for ways to circumvent the law. Same as it ever was.

The longer abortion is illegal, the more women die. We've been arguing this since the 1950s, and millions of people are single-issue voters on this issue. Why in the world would someone think it's going to fade away now, when the fight is at its peak?

And the further we get from Dobbs, the more women see and feel the aftermath.

They’re banking on the issue fading in the next month? Dobbs was 2 years ago, it’s faded as much as it’s going to fade before the election

I think they (the theocratic Republicans) are counting on apathy and thus women just getting used to it as the new depressive state of affairs that can't be changed. May the wave of women voters prove them wrong, baby, wrong.

People in Lisa's circle feels like it won't bother them. They can afford to go to their state of choice or live in a state with protections. What they don't get is that Trump will ban it federally and Texas is making inroads in getting data from other states where abortion is protected
