Maple’s taken to sleeping on my bed (even with me!) the last few days. I like this development. (She’s always treated the guest room as her preferred spot& just visits my room. But now?)
It was a violently boring weekend. (Covid quarantining & then perimenopause period chose violence.)
I cleaned the house & have done 5 loads of laundry. All the sheets, towels, throws & covers. Sigh.
I had ONE pumpkin biscotti left. Pumpkin the cat stole it & licked it to death. Anyway, back to cleaning.
Insult to injury: guess what showed up after an 8 month hiatus? And the mild congestion I had is trying to turn into an ear infection. And it’s a bloody gorgeous day & I shouldn’t even go for a walk. I hate Covid.
Woke up & fed cats. And since I was a bit bummed I couldn’t do any thing I wanted to (market, cheer marathon,) I went back to bed. Cats piled on top of me.
Most of my symptoms are gone, down pretty much residual sinus that could also just be leaves, but I’m still a walking Covid infestation. At least the weather will allow me to air the house, which smells of illness.
I’m dreading calling my parents to tell them I have to reschedule my trip; they know it’s coming, I just haven’t definitively said as much.
I can tell you my sense of smell & taste are undiminished. Came downstairs this am, where the windows are closed because it’s 40 & I could smell the sickroom(vaguely cheesy.) Got a purifier running, but still.(My sense of smell is a superpower, to some disadvantage.)
