It’s really not great that the upper echelons of media are a handful of people concentrated in DC and New York who are drawn from only a few schools and select families, and above all utterly obsessed with themselves and their class.

It certainly has given the national discourse something of a high school cafeteria gossip session, which probably explains at least some of the reason why most Americans are so disengaged from it all.

Much of legacy media have devolved to a 21st century courtier class. Nation states now (or soon) compete for resources with stateless billionaire syndicates & other private interests. Poli sci, group psych & comms tools are all evolving toward some new arrangement in real time right in front of us.
