if appropriation means failing to shout out to the originators… the Irish culturally appropriated the potato French vineyards appropriated indigenous american rootstocks. Italians appropriated the tomato. the aztecs appropriated roast spaniards, & American Indians appropriated the horse.

I think there's a legitimate place for discussions of harmful appropriations. But I don't think I've ever seen food discourse be that. It's always this kind of batshit stuff.
