John Carpenter HALLOWEEN II Halloween II 1981 Watched Sep 20, 2024 They paid me more money than I had ever seen to write a sequel to a film that did not need one. I took the check and spent it on beers to get me drunk enough to plow through this crap. I looked at the final script, which took a whopping 2 days to write, and said "wow, now that's a piece of shit." And it was. I had faith in Rick Rosenthal and he did not deliver. I suppose I expected him to be a miracle worker and nobody could've made this work. I don't regret hiring him. LIKE? 109 likes
John Carpenter DARK STAR Dark Star 1974 Watched Sep 20, 2024 Embarrising. I had not a single clue what I was doing. It's funny to think I thought a limosine would pick me up and take me to my first studio set after the world saw this movie. That never happened. I almost gave up and moved back home to Kentucky but I refused to let the world kick me down. Kinda. People tell me they really like this one and I tell them they're crazy. I started watching through Babylon 5 with @smolace.bsky.social and have been very much enjoying it so far. We are now almost all the way through season one. If you’ve never heard of it before it’s basically Mass Effect: the TV show. I was hooked after only a few episodes!

Sorry chat, were gonna be slapping a downer from Buzzkill Bitch here." Arch's scales bristled and her shields flared over her claws with a snarl at her lips. "Go fuck yourself." RageBait sneered. "No quips? Aw man, girls got no game! Put this bitch in a super suit at least, fuck me." She'd had enough. She charged towards the raccoon, powered by a spring launch from the shields under her paws and with claws wreathed in shield blades. He dodges aside at an unexpected speed, letting her shoot past and slide around on her discs to reo
An immediate, challenging scowl darkened Cymbel’s face. “Just because I don’t take the easy route with a gun that destroys every window in a two-mile radius-” Branwen grinned, a little confrontationally. There it is. “-doesn’t mean it’s not worthwhile! It’s stealth, it’s-” “Oh yeah, real stealth mode parading around in your jockstrap for the cameras.” “It’s a thong.” She shook her head again and pointed down at the archery bag. “That is gonna get you killed one day. Some fucker is going to find your position, and before you’ve even drawn your bow you’ll get a bullet to your brain.” Orion looked a little concerned. “Branwen, this is pizza.”
Before her was a toucan drone, whose assignation, 2-CAN, was frustratingly good and satisfyingly droll. She smirked, and bowed her head as they presented a large black box with magenta accents towards her. She hadn’t received a package in such a long time that she forgot how bulky they needed to be to fit an entire outfit inside it. “Thank you! Wow, that’s big…” she murmured. 2-CAN tilted their head. “I get that a lot.” She froze, glancing between the box and the bird, and it finally clicked a second later that they were making a joke about their beak. Which was, admittedly, rather big. “Aha, I can imagine. My tail gets the same reaction sometimes.” “Well,” said 2-CAN cheerily, “at least that’s all behind you.” Arch’s eyes widened, as she realised the danger of being so close to an inherent punster. “It- ahah, yes. Well, um, I don’t want to keep you.” “Yes, you’d need to fill out a requisition form for that. Bye!” And like that, with equal flourish and lack of ceremony, 2-CAN l
He met her in reply with a short wave of his paw. “Don’t pay any mind- we’re better equipped now. But trust me, hotspots are rarely pretty, especially before you’ve got your resources set up. Korps has a lot of romanticism, but there’s real danger too, and as you well know it’s affected many of us. Don’t forget it, and don’t forget yourself either,” he said, with a rather significant pointedness. He was right, of course. Archantael’s radicalisation happened before finding the Korps as a means to avenge it, and so far she hadn’t experienced any loss as a direct result of it. She knew that it happened- having such a small social circle for such a long time was a rather morbid benefit in that you never grew close enough to anyone to find out they weren’t around anymore. Now, the sinking realisation that she, and Sav, and Raz, and a great many people around her, could suddenly be erased from the comfort she’d grown to know here was a deeply chilling one. It wasn’t that she ever denied the
