I don't usually mix up words these days, but if I'm stressed or tired, I do tend to stumble over what I say. It's not the greatest when you're supposed to be a communications professional.
I'm pretty good at saying a few words on the fly, especially because that's part of my job, but I don't think people understand how stressful it can be, especially once you've had a head injury. I have to prepare for speaking engagements differently now.
Nothing like finding out 1.5 days before an event that someone volunteered you to give remarks.
