I'm pretty sure the bigger sites would easily get more than the cost of a subscription out of me if I could pay 25-50 cents an article at a time. 12ft has never worked well for me, but archive dot org's wayback machine is fairly reliable.

I don't wanna read the whole indie publication, but that one article sounds cool. Here's fifty cents, go nuts. Would work a lot better, honestly.
