I mean I think it's relevant to show what we were dealing with before vs. the updates my wife did 😂 Not pictured: at least one log being used as a "support" that was so rotten we could kick it loose without much effort. Our neighborhood is pretty seismically stable, but with no actual foundation...

The support under a small building. There are several posts that simply land on top of large rocks or bricks on top of other rocks, and visible rot in several joists and supports. You, too, would be horrified to discover this was what was holding up your laundry room.
The support under a small building structure. While there are still several posts being supported by rocks and random bricks, they have been joined by 4x4s attached to deck blocks, with 4x4 beams supporting the joists and appropriately braced. One of the most rotten supports has been replaced by a fresh, pressure-treated 4x4 post.
