If we are to achieve this goal, you must challenge the things that you aim to improve. Some MLP artists seem to have gained the twitter cynicism and instead of being criticial of the fandom: they just circlejerk blame the individual. They don't want to take the L, they'd rather throw it onto you.
I've come to realise over the years that progress is good, and life would be better if we achieved that. Yet the other side believe that we don't need to fear a facist takeover because we got the good ending from WWII and everyone learned better. Yeah, about that.
The fundemental disagreement between people like me, and apolitical, centrist and conservatives is that we don't need to be on the lookout for nazis in the fandom. That we would be better if we just shut up about it.
Whether you think their past is a bearing on who they are is not the point. Our fandom might be niche, yet we've been going strong for a good long while, and when our problems are bad: they also become uniquely magnifyed.

Most surprising I say is Germany and Austria. They both have laws curbing nazism but then again the far-right surge is no surprise why it's taking so long.
Honest to God, I wish all of Europe (including non-member states like UK, CH, NO) would just ban Twitter. It's practically unusable now Elon made it Hell's playground.
