Whoa. I think I remember this. Was this one of the strips that was "syndicated" to university papers?
It's just a reality of the biz I guess. And Ken's stuff was really good. Those guys in the 50s and 60s were consummate draftsmen.
Have you ever heard of Ken Muse. He wrote a couple of cartooning books that were ESSENTIAL tomes for me. I talked to his son in recent years and he was sad his father's strip was a forgotten entity.
I often think about how many "forgotten" syndicated strips came and went and we don't have a convenient archive of them. So much talent has passed through that industry and only a handful of strips are really lauded or remembered.
It doesn't hurt to have a @davekellett.bsky.social knocking around either. Good people.
Everyone should have a @guigar.bsky.social in their life. Seriously.
One of the questions I was asked during the panel was "Have you ever played D&D with someone who's personality was just too big for the table." and I answered by pointing to myself and clearing my throat.
Is he related to Jeff Vader who runs the death star canteen?
I'm still thinking about what a ball we all had at my panel at PAX. When you have "panel regulars" that you consider your buddies at this point...that's something special. Great to see all those faces both familiar and new. I think it's been six years since I've been to the show (any show really).
