I havenāt been active here for a while, and I apologize. As a peace offering, here is a picture of my cat enjoying a recent sunny day.
I make lists and then get distracted and do stuff that wasnāt on the list. Then Iām mad that I donāt have anything to check off.
Since Threads is the only text-based social network that isn't currently consumed with talking about how bad the other options are, I think I'm going to focus there and take a short break from this place. I'm sure I'll be back; just going to give it time for the ridiculousness to blow over.
The level of anger around which social networks are good and which are evil has really grown exhausting over the past few weeks, and it became exponentially more so in the last 24 hours. How about let people use the ones that work for them and ignore the ones you don't like?
I can't even get the app. App Store says it's no longer available. App Store propagation is weird, though, so maybe it just needs a bit of timeā¦
Thatās what Iāve been doing for the past 6 months.
For me, the first word in "social media" is the important one. Bottom line, I'm going to use the one where my friends are. Do I hope it's not the one run by Meta? Absolutely. But if everyone I want to interact with is there, I'm not going to hang out by myself somewhere else out of principle.
