Physics Nobels I would be pleased by: Quantum info (Bennett, Shor...) CMB anisotropy measurements (not sure who) LHC/Higgs discovery (Evans, Giannotti...) Systems biophysics (West, Bialek...) Not predictions! And of course many other areas I don't know enough about to guess.

Do you think that a Nobel award for the Higgs discovery could go to one or three people? Given the size of the LHC collaboration, wouldn't this be very controversial?

Of course physics is in crisis and essentially dead, so maybe they will just cancel the award this year.
