How many of them will stick around though? Back in February, we had a large spike in sign up that then fell off because god forbid they have to redo their followers and learn a slightly new skyline system.
I suspect more than you might think. Musk seemingly actively encouraging a civil war really was the last straw
No I think Musk has gone too far now. A lot have gone to Threads but it’s wank.
What was the cause of the Feb movement? Because I was part of that, and I cannot for the life of me remember why
I had 6,800 followers but I'd say less than 1% of them ever interacted with me. I'd rather have a small, but engaging, band of followers than sheer numbers. That's always been the flaw of Twitter, and it's why Elmo bought it because it fuels narcissists.
Lack of support for video upload doesn’t help.
Personally it was because there wasn't much activity here, plus some pretty toxic behaviour which put me off interacting with established voices. Feels very different at the moment.
It wasn't due to that. It was the gatekeeping from "elders" that disgusted new users. Those elders have mostly been silenced or shut down by the new users
Speaking personally (I was not on BS until less than a week ago) the transition has been really easy. Pretty sure I'll be uninstalling Xitter soon, and deleting the account a while after that (or clearing it out and squatting on my handle, if that's possible).
