So really, what's the point other than the prestige? If we'd done it all ourselves we could have achieved exactly the same end result but with a better cover and cheaper.

One of the most dispiriting parts of contemporary academia is engaging with concepts and theorists, then realizing they are sexual harassers, racist or otherwise problematic.
Not exactly but I have said that they have 10-15 minutes to come up with questions on the reading or with the questions they think other people need answered (but are too shy to ask). Sounds a bit tortuous but I got the best most interesting questions with this framing
