Such shocking news that Dictionary.com has laid off all its lexicographers. I already had a line in next week's podcast about dictionaries being a tough industry, and now it's even more true. I hope some fabulous company hires them all; they're a real dream team.
How amazing is it that as soon as you've the gaul of mentioning the concept of animals possibly dying at the hand of someone practicing animal husbandry, all hell breaks loose and politeness and humility are seen as combativeness? No mention of animal welfare, just mentioning the concept. Sickening.

@lateralcast.com Hi! Regarding episode 77: I don't know where you saw the origin of "bouquiniste" is mysterious, because it's very straightforward. "Bouquin" /bu.kɛ̃/ is slang for "book". The word is used about as much as "livre", if not more, so it's not a secret to anyone 😁 It comes from Dutch.
