In 1790 Pennsylvania was considered a remarkably polyglot place because almost 40% of the white population did not speak English as a first language. Approximately 3% of the state’s population was of African descent.
My family has been in Pennsylvania since 1731. They came from Baden-Wurttemberg for opportunities and religious freedom. My grandfather spoke a mix of English and German in the 60’s. William Penn would roll over in his grave. Trump needs to keep his bigotry to himself.
Very much beside the point, but "National Stocks" is an interesting, vaguely creepy construction.
...and Vance, et al are still mad about it
So my PA ancestors many generations ago were Huguenots. So started in France then (in one lifetime) moved to Germany then it England then PA. I wonder what they would count as. Cause I see no France on there but def were part of a biggish group of Huguenots.
He thinks singling out swing states he needs as the places migrants are taking over will win him those states. I'd like to think the people of #Pennsylvania aren't as ignorant, gullible, and bigoted as he paints them.
It's true, I used to be alive exactly where Minneapolis used to be.
I’ve always heard people say Pennsylvania Dutch. No matter how you slice it, America is the “melting pot” of non-natives. Anyone that believes otherwise should’ve failed basic history.
Hell, my great grandmother barely spoke English, and she was always referred to as "großmum" (from the German "großmutter").
Oh no. which small Pennsylvania town are immigrants invading today?
