Jim Lange was the decades long cartoonist for the Daily Oklahoman (or as a Tulsa New Deal Dem called it, "Daily Disappointment"). He had self-respect a couple orders of magnitude greater than Garrison. Lange at least depicted the conservative everyman much better:
