they want to “leave [the freedom to organize unions] to the states” the same way they want to do with abortion rights, which is to say, let state-level GOP politicians crush it locally where they can and use control of courts and agencies to make it near-impossible anywhere else
We can save a lot of time by realizing that they want to get rid of anything that would help the middle and lower classes. You know, most of the people of the U.S. Education, healthcare, unions, OSHA, FDA. You name it, they want it gone.
I feel very confident that the Founders didn’t intend for the 10th Amendment to supersede the 1st, on account of they wrote them in the same document and could have said that if they had done. But then again, I don’t have access to Clarence Thomas’s Ouija board.
Actually even if this is his ideology he should realize it simply can't work in this century: so many companies are nationwide and global that state by state law is unworkable: it would be anarchy at BEST. Even companies would grow to hate it for the sheer administrative burden.
I thought it was called "The United States of America"... not "A Group of States That Are Enabled To Run Their Own Shows"...? As a Canadian, it can look confusing!
Project 2025 has lots of proposals that would harm unions from page 591-605 plus other proposals that will harm workers.
