22. Small Rain by Garth Greenwell. Greenwell is one of the best writers out there right now, and this book devastated and triggered me. In 2020 , a 40-something gay male finds himself in the hospital with a mysterious condition and reflects on his life and love for his Andaluz bf.

23. Karaoke Queen by Dominic Lim. This book is joyful even if the characters struggle with being fully themselves. Rex sees his ex at a karaoke bar and decides to return to his drag persona Regina Moon Dee without the ex nor father knowing Filipino rep. I enjoyed Lim's 2nd book more than his first.
