I'm never forget a flight that was waived off of FWA due to storms, redirected to IND. We flew straight over the runway at about 500ft because of wind shear. White knuckle the whole time. Finally hit the ground... in a very literal sense...on the second try. Those pilots were incredibly skilled.

I went through one of these at LaGuardia years ago but it aborted 2-3 times due to heavy turbulence and microbursts… the seat back display showed that we approached a few hundred feet each time before they waved off
