London has by far the lowest overall level of car access and far fewer households with access to multiple cars. Meanwhile in the South East, car owning households are more likely to have two or more cars than one.

Lower levels of car ownership in urban areas is linked with the availability of public transport, and with proximity to shops, amenities, and recreational facilities (maybe within 15mins of home…). Evidence from France suggests it is also linked to reduced parking access and higher fuel prices.
