A poll of AA members found: “96% of respondents indicated that losing their car would negatively impact their lifestyle. Of those, 57% said that without a car they would struggle to leave their local area.” That is what car dependency (real or perceived) looks like.
Has working from home had an impact on car ownership? 🤷♂️ “No evidence was found on how working from home has impacted on wider trends in car travel/usage.“ Most things I’ve seen suggest it leads to use of the car for other trips (eg more leisure) rather than commuting.
